Ryan Lee Blu-Ray Commentary

Mike pitched me a springboard for a Civil War Trailer strip starring the Arachnoid…and as usual I didn’t really do what he wanted me to. I must admit, trailer culture baffles me.  It isn’t even the fact that these things are deliberately misleading, although that’s pretty bad.  Much of what you get in these trailers is either not in the film or radically altered before you get there.

But even if they showed you the “goods”….it’s a commercial.  Who the hell gets excited about commercials?  Everybody but me,is the correct answer.  I don’t know, like what you like I always say.  I just don’t always get it.

Anywho, what little criticism there is about Spider-Man in that Civil War commercial seems to be centered on the fact that he sounds a bit like Justin Bieber and the eyes in his mask move.  Apparently.  So my approach was to poke a bit of fun at the idea that the Arachnoid on screen didn’t really have much to do with “reality” at all.

Monster Mike Blu-Ray Commentary

I am so jazzed about the new Spider-Man costume for the Marvel movies. Moving eyes and all. I thought they hit pretty close to perfect with the second Andrew Garfield costume but this…this is a whole new level of awesome.

I don’t remember what my initial pitch was for this strip, but I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out. I’ve been wanting to switch up some camera angles and this gave me a great opportunity to split the strip in half, visually.

My apologies for being pretty lazy with the commentary updates lately. I’ve been spending a lot of my time gearing for East Coast Comic Expo in Moncton in May.
