Ryan Lee Blu Ray Commentary

I see Mike is still experimenting with Zip, I thought the trick with the lighting on his costume worked out pretty slick.  But as always, you get to decide for yourself if it worked or not.

These are my personal favorite kind of strips…the absurd ones that have no real meaning.  Just having the Man-Thing in the kitchen is pretty funny to me.  I’m in the process of finding a joke in which he burns the food, because you know…”whatever knows fear burns at the Man-Thing’s touch.”  The obstacle I’m having is finding food capable of being afraid.  I thought about a bit that ends with the Swamp Cook and a live lobster…but I can’t make it work yet.

Monster Mike Blu Ray Commentary

I’m pleased with how the kitchen scene turned out. The way I’ve been inking this strip from the beginning is with the colouring step in mind. I try to avoid a lot of sketchiness and I complete every line so it’s easy to just fill in shapes. With panel three here, I threw that out the window and just drew it. Colouring took a little longer and there’s probably far too many gradients in there, but overall, I’m happy with it.

I love the strips in which we introduce new characters. Extra points to Ryan for making this one the punchline.
